An important post regarding my photography

 Afternoon everyone,

I have a few things I need to get off my chest regarding the use of my photography. It goes without saying that I take a lot of pride in my photography, and I enjoy sharing it with you across social media and on my website.
However, there have been a few incidents recently regarding the use of my work that I wanted to address here.
Firstly, relating to people using my work without my permission. To put it simply, don’t do this. Photography is my job and people do pay me to use my images. Not only is it illegal and a violation of copyright laws, but it is also disrespectful to the time and effort I put into creating these images. If you want to use my work, please ask for permission and credit me appropriately.
Secondly, there have been cases where people have cropped or edited my photos without my consent. This is also unacceptable. When you crop or edit my work, you are essentially changing my art and presenting it in a way that may not align with my original vision. Again, if you want to use my work in any way, please ask for permission first.
Lastly, I want to emphasize the importance of respecting artists and their work. Photography is not just a hobby for me, it is my profession and livelihood. By respecting my work, you are supporting me and other artists in our creative endeavours.
Lastly, please respect my time. I’ve recently had two representatives from a well-known heritage railway reach out to me to use my images in their promotional material. I don’t want to name and shame. However, after some lengthy email exchanges discussing what they wanted and the prices for that work they ghosted me. Which is incredibly frustrating and disrespectful of my time. If you reach out to me to use my images, please be upfront and respectful of my time. If you decide not to move forward with using my work, please let me know so that I can focus my energy on other projects.
I want to highlight that my prices are competitive and reflect the time and effort that goes into creating and editing my images. It's important to remember that when you work with me, you are not just getting a simple snapshot, but a fully edited picture that can take several hours to perfect.
I understand that everyone has a budget to work with, but please keep in mind that my rates reflect the quality and uniqueness of my work. I am always willing to work with clients to find a pricing solution that works for both of us.
So, if you are interested in using my images for your projects, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
